Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions relate only to the Read at Amarela retreat booking, participation, and payments.
1. Retreat Overview
Read at Amarela is a curated reading retreat hosted at Casa Amarela in Portugal. Each cohort is intentionally matched based on interests, availability, and reading preferences.
Submitting the form does not guarantee a spot; all applications are reviewed individually.

2. Payments & Deposits
If you are offered a spot:
-
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place.
-
Remaining payments will follow a schedule outlined in your confirmation email.
-
Late payments may result in losing your spot.
All pricing is listed in EUR unless noted otherwise.

3. Cancellations
Because retreats are intentionally intimate, cancellations affect the entire group. Our cancellation terms:
-
Deposits are non-refundable.
-
Final payments may be partially refundable depending on timing.
-
If you can no longer attend, we will do our best to help fill your spot, but we cannot guarantee a replacement.
If the retreat must be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, travel restrictions, safety concerns), we will provide a full refund or offer alternate dates.

4. Travel & Insurance
Guests are responsible for:
-
Booking their own travel
-
Ensuring passport validity
-
Any required visas
-
Purchasing travel/medical insurance (strongly recommended)
Read at Amarela is not responsible for flight cancellations or delays.

5. On-Site Experience
While Casa Amarela is a comfortable, thoughtfully designed home, guests participate in the retreat at their own risk.
By attending, you agree to:
-
Follow any on-site guidelines
-
Treat the property and other guests with respect
-
Notify the host of any allergies or accessibility needs in advance
We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behavior disrupts the retreat experience.

6. Health, Safety & Well-Being
We aim to provide a peaceful, nurturing space. Still:
-
Guests are responsible for managing personal health needs
-
Any pre-existing conditions should be shared with us beforehand
-
Emergency services are accessible locally
-
Activities (walks, outings, etc.) are optional
7. Photography & Content
During the retreat, we occasionally take photos or videos to showcase the experience. You will always have the option to opt out.
You may share your own content, but please respect the privacy of other guests before posting photos of them.
8. Changes to the Retreat
We may adjust schedules, programming, or activities to ensure the best possible experience. Any changes will be communicated as early as possible.
